I Can See Clearly Now

That old song popped into my mind this morning.
  Played over and again in the background until at last,
  I realized it was speaking to me, speaking about my life.

I can see clearly now...

I can see clearly that which I refused to recognize,
  that which stood as an unmoving, unrelenting force,
  the never-ending chant, 'No.  Not now.  Not ever.  No.'

It is a reprise of Spirit's most recent lesson for me.
  'Gracefully let go of that which is not meant for you.
  Recognize it, then let it go with grace, honor and love.'

Something shifted inside me, something quickened.
  It feels as an embryonic sense of self worth and love.
  It lifted the cloud darkening my eyes, gifted me with sight.

For so many years, I struggled against the tide.

  I lived a life vision that wasn’t shared by others.

  I was blind to the absolute futility of my endeavor.

Now, suddenly the veil is lifted and I can see.

  That which I dreamt and desired does not exist.

  I was grasping at wisps of wind, embracing illusion.

I am finally ready to follow Spirit's admonition.
  I am finally ready to relinquish my fight for a life
  that wasn't meant for me.  I let go in peace and love.

I can see all obstacles in my way

Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind

It’s gonna be a bright, bright, bright,

bright Sun-Shiny day.

I think I can make it now, the pain is gone

All of the bad feelings have disappeared

Here is the rainbow I’ve been praying for

Look all around, there’s nothing but blue skies

Look straight ahead, nothing but blue skies

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,

I can see all obstacles in my way
